This is an exciting opportunity to join GCS Agricentre as we expand to a new purpose built depot.
Agricultural Engineer – for Case IH, Manitou and some of the best machinery in Dorset and surrounding areas.
Agricultural engineers or budding apprentices required. GCS Agricentre are looking for you to work out of our depots servicing and repairing products from our suppliers We are stocking main dealers for Case IH tractors and Manito handlers. We are looking for enthusiastic people to come and join our team. Could this be you? GCS Agricentre covers Dorset and surrounding areas with depots in Shaftesbury and Dorchester. We offer a quality range of products and are stocking dealers for Case IH, Manitou, Pottinger, HiSpec, McHale, Bomford and AW Trailers as well as many other key franchises.

With AFS Connect becoming the normal on high horsepower Tractors, a methodical mind with good diagnostic / computer understanding is essential. The successful candidate will ideally be familiar with manufacturer dealer standards, KPIs and understand the importance of the customer satisfaction index and net promoter score systems.
We want our engineers to be familiar with the latest machinery technology and will enrol engineers on manufacturer training courses to suit the engineer’s requirements. You’ll be required to attend courses, as appropriate, some of which will be residential. Most product update courses are covered via teams (or similar) meetings. We offer very competitive rates of pay based upon experience and ability. You’ll be prepared to work hard with the right attitude that want to make a difference in an interesting and varied sector. The role includes “on call” out of normal hours working to cover breakdowns etc. which is paid for in addition to your standard hourly rate.
Requires care and attention to detail.
Achieve manufacturer set KPIs.
Ability to operate on a “Call Out Rota” and work outside office hours during busy periods including weekends
Requires Relevant Agricultural Engineering Qualifications or a proven track record in another relevant sector.
A full understanding and appreciation of PPE Equipment.
The ability to use and understand computer diagnostic systems.
To have a full and comprehensive understanding of Health & safety in the workplace and to ensure the safety at all times of both staff and customers.
We supply our mobile engineers with modern vans.
Engineers will require their own tools; however, we supply all specialist tools and equipment and relevant product training; to keep our staff well trained in new technology as it enters the industry.
To apply for this role, you will need the following Key Attributes:
Technical knowledge in mechanical engineering.
An ability to think outside the box and creating resourceful solutions.
Self-Motivated with a “Can Do” attitude.
Be prepared to work outside normal hours, as require, to keep farmers going.
Excellent planning & organisation skills.
Excellent personal time management.
A keen team player, with the ability to work on own initiative.
Dedicated professional attitude and conduct, with clear & effective communication (written and verbal).
The successful applicant needs to:
Understand and appreciate the requirements of a 24/7 agricultural industry. We will consider individuals without agricultural knowledge if they have a proven record in other relevant areas and are able to demonstrate how existing skills can be adapted to agriculture. An interest to learn is essential.

Salary: £29,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
